For Charlene and Tyler’s engagement session at Memory Grove Park, we were blessed with the most gorgeous trees and fall colors, and a perfect sunny day. I loved getting to know these two and their story. They met in high school, and started dating their senior year. They have been dating ever since then, and have now been together for over seven years! I have a special place in my heart for high school sweethearts!!
Tyler proposed to Charlene while the two of them were on vacation in Alaska. They were hiking, and had stopped at a beautiful spot by a waterfall. Tyler was so anxious, and Charlene so excited, that it took him a few times to ask before Charlene could get a “Yes!!” out! He wrapped her in a big kiss, and then they shared a delicious picnic lunch together, sharing in their newly engaged giddiness.
For their engagement session, they brought along their adorable puppy, Rugger, who totally completes their little family! He’s the sweetest little Australian shepherd/collie mix and added such a fun element to their session, and also to their relationship. I always love it when my couples bring along their pup – it always seems to help bring out their true personalities, and I love to see how they already work together to parent and care for another addition to their partnership.
Charlene confessed that one of her favorite things about Tyler is that he always knows just how to make her laugh, while Tyler loves Charlene’s confidence and self-motivation. Together, these two love to watch movies, eat, talk, play with Rugger (who could resist that face?!), and listen to Sinatra, The Killers, and Neon Trees. Getting to know them during their engagement session only made me even more excited to photograph their wedding day!
